A friend recently had a summer cold.  I’m not sure what’s worse – getting a cold in the dead of winter or on a bright sunshiney day.  I created these sinus steamers for her.  They work like a charm and they’re oh-so-easy to make!

I don’t know about you, but I take more baths in the winter than I do in the summertime, but when I do take a summer bath, I want it to count.  Know what I mean?

The DIY recipe for these cashmere bath bombs is made with cashmere fragrance oil and REAL cashmere from Bramble Berry.

For those who want the nourishing effects of butters and oils without the fizz of a bath bomb, bath melts or solid bath oils are perfect.  They’re easier to make, too, because they aren’t as finicky as bath bombs.  These bath melts are made with geranium essential oil.  You can substitute an essential oil of your choice.   If you choose to use fragrance oil (FO) instead, be sure to check the recommended usage amount because it will be different.

This bath bomb smells so divine!  Toasted coconut with lime! And, the coconut milk gives it extra, extra, extra, foaming ability.   You can tweak the lime essential oil and the witch hazel depending on whether you’d like a stronger lime scent – just keep the total to 2 ounces.  I found ½ ounce of lime essential oil just enough to allow the coconut scent to come through, too.  You get the coconut scent from the flour and milk.

Oh my gosh!  This is chocolate heaven.  It’s simply divine.  You might be tempted to eat it….DON”T!  I’m a chocoholic, but there is no such thing as chocolate essential oil and I always try to use essential oils before I use fragrance oils.  Don’t get me wrong – I do use fragrance oils, but always look for ones that are phthalate free.  Before I even had a chance to look for a chocolate FO, I found cocoa vanilla oil on Edens Garden.  I knew I had to try it.  And, the amount of vanillin in the oil gives this bomb a nice chocolate brown color without having to use any colorants.

I created this recipe for someone who can’t use bath bombs because she has an allergic reaction to all scents, including essential oils, EXCEPT for vanilla.  I call it my oatmeal, milk, and honey, but it smells like a yummy cookie!  I used vanilla oleoresin from Eden’s Garden, and while it’s not a true essential oil, and is a bit costly, it’s a good alternative for those who need something that doesn’t leave them sneezing, or who just want to smell like a yummy cookie after the bath!
